Once Upon A Time
The Creative Brief:
A cross-continental world-building exercise extracting iconic Hollywood characters from the western world milieu and architecture and anchoring them seamlessly into physically accurate, landmark Middle Eastern environments.
Case Study: King Kong
Phase 1: Spatial Extrapolation & Perspective Engineering
Successfully solved a highly restrictive spatial alignment challenge, matching an exact, narrow-angle aerial perspective originally shot from a fighter plane POV over New York into a brand-new geographic context. Extrapolated the camera height, focal length, and horizon line to align perfectly with the architectural layout of the Burj Khalifa and the surrounding Dubai grid.
Phase 2: True-Scale World Building & Urban Mapping
Constructed a structurally coherent digital environment based on real-world Dubai urban district layouts. Executed topographically accurate spatial distribution to ensure precise layout continuity between the Burj Khalifa, the downtown district, community parks and the distant sea line – rendering the entire environment instantly recognizable to locals.
Phase 3: Extraction & Light Integration (No-Key Extraction)
Executed manual, high-detail articulation extraction of King Kong directly from the original New York sequence plate without the aid of green-screen keying. Re-engineered the character into the intense high-altitude atmospheric lighting conditions of Downtown Dubai.
